The American Legion Warffemius-Seidler Post 381 membership meeting opened at 7:30 pm 
at Post HQ, 14313 Brandywine Heights Road, Brandywine, MD by Post Commander Ron 
Fisher. 

A quorum being met by the following

Minutes from the previous meeting was presented and approved. 

Reports:  
Financial Report was presented by Cmdr Ron Fisher. MSP. 

Wilmer’s Park Report. The Post has a meeting scheduled with Parks and Planning Commission on Tuesday, February 21 in Upper Marlboro.  

New Business: The annual Oyster Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, February 25 at the Harry White Wilmer Post 82, 6330 Crain Hwy., La Plata, MD 20646. Open at 5:00, dinner at 6:00pm. Awards 7:00. Post 381 reached 100% and will receive an award. 

Adjourn: MSP to adjourn.

Prince George's County Council Commander John McGee was introduced. PGCC Cmdr McGee had just completed the annual Post Inspection. He thanked Post Cmdr Ron Fisher for presenting all the items he was looking for and his inspection report will be forwarded within a week. He asked about our membership renewals, to which Cmdr Fisher explained that we have many membership renewals ready to be sent to the Department and Adjutant Erle Ross will be mailing them the following day.

Minutes from the previous meeting was presented and approved as modified.

Reports: Finance Report was given by Judge Advocate Jeremy Foster. MSP to approve.

Chaplain's Report included the passing of Post member Bill Bush. Chaplain Chris Marshall circulated a sympathy card for the members to sign, and Chap. Marshall will send to the Bush family.

Wilmer's Park Committee Report was given by Third Vice Commander Tyrone Eugene. He indicated there was little change from last month's report, which is that the process is still moving forward.

Old Business:

New Business: JA Foster is attending college and is active in the College of Southern Maryland's Student Veteran's Organization (SVO). He has met several veteran's and anticipates at least a couple students will join Post 381.

Adj Ross asked about the ramifications to the Post and member if a Post member were to donate a sailboat to the Post. Cmdr Fisher will contact the Post CPA on this matter.

JA Foster responded to a question about VA benefits and Vocational Rehabilitation for recently discharged vets to attend college and receive these benefits.

Reports: Financial Report presented by Cmdr Ron Fisher. MSP. 

Commander’s Report: Prince George’s County Commander John McGee postponed his inspection of the Post until December. 
Ron Fisher, Tyrone Eugene, Henry Turner, Reggie Pearman and their wives, Pam Neal-Robinson & daughter, and Sherry Miller attended the Prince George’s County NAACP “Ho-Down” on October 28, 2016. 
Cmdr Fisher spent $150 from Post petty cash for Reggie Pearman and wife could attend. MSP to approve this expenditure. 
Cmdr Fisher won a silent auction of an overnight stay at National Harbor and will give it to a member of the Post. 

Chaplains Report: Post member Darryl Morgan’s father passed away. Post member Bill Bush has stage 4 cancer. 

Wilmer’s Park Report: Cmdr Fisher met with Prince George’s Parks and Planning Department (P&P) on October 28. Prince George’s County Councilmember Mel Franklin Emceed that meeting. 
On November 1, 2016, Cmdr Ron Fisher and 3rd Vice Commander Tyrone Eugene walked around Wilmer’s Park with Department of Parks and Recreation Director, Ronnie Gathers. 
A draft of a short-term lease has been written by 3rd Vice Commander Tyrone Eugene and Cmdr Fisher. 
3rd V Cmdr Eugene gave additional details of the walk through and that he reviewed the short-term lease draft with P&P Senior Planner Don Herring. 

New Business: Post financial advisor Joshua Wynne is hosting an open house at his office in North Beach, MD. All Post members are invited.
