Minutes 
May 16, 2016 

The American Legion Warffemius-Seidler Post 381 membership meeting opened at 7:33 pm 
at Post HQ, 14313 Brandywine Heights Road, Brandywine, MD by Post Commander Ron 
Fisher.

The meeting opened with benediction from Chaplin Chris Marshall. 

MSP to suspend with normal business and move directly to the Wilmer’s Park Report: 

Cmdr Ron Fisher updated the Post on current status of Wilmer’s Park. The previous day the 
DEC approved our proposal to lease Wilmer’s Park. This will allow Cmdr Fisher to get 
endorsements from other service groups. 

The Annex is in process and should be open by August. 

Different people from The Park & Planning Commission (P&P) has met several times and 
with several members of the Post. Specifics of how the proper will be used and who will be 
responsible for what needs are a couple of the major issues addressed. 

After returning to normal business, Service Officer Marrie Nunn introduced guest Antonio 
Wright. Cmdr Fisher presented the American Legion and what Post 381 is about, and what 
our plans for the future holds. Several Post members testified why they joined Post 381. 

Minutes from the previous general membership was presented and approved. 

Reports: Cmdr Fisher presented the Treasurer’s Report. MSP. 

Sick Call: Fred Harley has one more surgery upcoming; and Bob Ross has health issues. 

Old Business: Elections: Over the past two months, no nominations for officer positions 
were presented. MSP (unanimously) to re-elect all existing officers in place. Adjutant Erle 
Ross will remain in place, and Sherry Miller will serve as assistant Adjutant and Assistant 
Service Officer. 

The subject of tele-conferencing the membership meetings was brought up. Ron described 
some the technology issues that have to be overcome. Svc Off Nunn asked about using 
FaceBook Channel. Cmdr Fisher assigned Svc Off Nunn to work with 2nd Vice Cmdr Tyrone 
Eugene to explore that possibility. 

New Business:  Cmdr Fisher presented his plan to raise $2000 to support the local Girl Scout 
Troop. 

Cmdr Fisher wants a summer Post BBQ and assigned Svc Off Nunn and Asst Svc Officer 
Miller to schedule this. 

Adjutant Ross gave examples where the current Bi-Laws are outdated or will be outdated 
once the Post moves into Wilmer’s Park, and is soliciting help from those who will assist to 
update the bi-laws. 

Adjutant Ross mentioned somethings about the upcoming State Convention. He suggested 
attending the conference college on Tuesday, and Pat McCoy’s election and installation on 
Friday.
