Minutes 
July 17, 2017  

The American Legion Warffemius-Seidler Post 381 membership meeting opened at 7:15 pm 
at Post HQ, 14313 Brandywine Heights Road, Brandywine, MD by Post Commander Ron 
Fisher. 

A quorum being met by the following

Old Business:  
     MSP to suspend with normal business and proceed directly to Wilmer’s Park. 
     Commander Fisher reviewed the recent developments with the Maryland-National 
Capital Park and Planning Commission (P&P). Cmdr Fisher met and talked with P&P 
Chairman Elizabeth Hewlett for the first time; there is an expected change in the personnel 
at P&P over the next couple of months; Ron will set up a meeting with P&P Chairman 
Hewlett in the near future to discuss the proposed lease of Wilmer’s Park. 
     Cmdr Fisher asked the Post for the authority to speak for the Post with expanded 
powers to speak to P&P on specific aspects of the proposed lease, including committing to 
certain aspects of the lease with the intent of getting closer to signing the lease for Wilmer’s 
Park. MSP. 

New Business:  
     Cmdr Fisher asked Adjutant Ross to write a letter to the Post member Noah Call- 
Bryce asking his command to allow him and a few other U.S. Marines to join other Post 381 
motorcyclists at an event in Roxbury, NY with the First Responders Riders on August 5, 2017. 
     Cmdr Fisher asked the Post to support The Jude House, Inc. again at their annual 
Family Day on August 20, 2017 from 1300-1600. MSP. 
     Cmdr Fisher asked Adj Ross to write a Letter of Appreciation for Post member Meghan 
Feerick for her help in Post functions over the past couple of months. 
     Cmdr Fisher asked the Post to support the Maryland NAACP’s Hot Summer Festival 
at the Ridgley’s Run Community Center, Jessup, MD, on August 26, 2017, from 1230-1700.
